Hatch Green Chile Fried Mozzarella

Zia Hatch Green Chile Fried Mozzarella



- 16oz block Mozzarella Cheese

- 4 Large Eggs

- 1 cup breadcrumbs

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 48oz or above high heat frying oil (Canola, Corn, etc)

- 4-6 tsps Zia Hatch Green Chile 


For Hatch Red Chile Marinara Sauce: 

- 1/2 jar Marinara Sauce

- 1/2 jar Zia Hatch Red Chile 



Hatch Green Chile Cheese Curds




- Cut Mozzarella cheese into smaller cubes. Mix in Zia Hatch Green Chile and mash / mix all together. 

- Using your hands, roll cheese and Zia Hatch Green Chile mixture into small balls (we got around 20). 

- Pour bread crumbs into one bowl and crack / whisk eggs into another bowl. Mix some salt and pepper into eggs and breadcrumbs as desired. 

- Dip each Hatch Green Chile mozzarella ball into the whisked egg, letting excess egg drip down. 

- After dipped into egg, coat in breadcrumbs. 

- Repeat the dip into egg and crumbs for a second coating and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 

- Repeat this process until all Hatch Green Chile mozzarella balls have been double coated. 

- Freeze for 2 hours. 

- After 2 hours, heat up oil to 350 degrees and fry until golden brown! 


For Hatch Red Chile Marinara Sauce: 

- Process / blend together 1/2 jar Zia Hatch Red Chile and 1/2 jar Marinara Sauce

- Heat up on low heat
